Really don't want my car's entertainment system to be the functional equivalent of a Windows Phone - kind of sort of there but also not. They are so close, but I'm a bit worried about the apparent lack of QA and Google's history of abandoning things. I just want AAOS to do what it kind of promises on the tin - a bug free experience that's closer to the functionality offered via even Android Auto. Switching music apps isn't quite a bad due to the wide availability of library transfer options. I have literally years of Audible books built up in my library, so the switching costs there are pretty high. My experience so far has been that Google Maps is excellent, but the other Google apps (YouTube Music in particular) are surprisingly bad. hitting forward in Spotify moves to the next track. Basic podcast stuff like hitting forward on the steering wheel in PocketCasts skips forward 15sec vs. ![]() So far PocketCasts has a lot more features and is a better app. These bugs are consistent across IHU reboots.Īny others? Is there a way to file these bugs directly with Volvo? I assume they are at least lurking here, but it would be nice to be able to file them directly. This happens to me at least once a week (drive the car daily).Įxpected: The audio playback never disconnects from the UI. Fix is to either go into the apps view and force quit (which can only be done while the car is not moving) or to just press and hold the center console IHU main button and restart the entire system (which can be done while the car is moving). Hitting play actually causes both audio streams to play at the same time. For example, if listening to Spotify, simply launching PocketCasts will cause Spotify to stop playing.Įxpected: Don't stop playing audio from one app until I hit play in another app (just like a phone).Īctual: Launching PocketCasts, sometimes the app will start playing audio that is completely disconnected from the UI. Actual: Music playback stops when another app is launched. ![]()
